A Kore
I'm not quite sure why I haven't posted any Kore yet - it might be because they're so under represented compared to Kouros at the National museum, most of them are to be found in the New Acropolis Museum nowadays.

This Kore, in Parian marble, dates from about 550-540 BC. Notice how much of the pain that remain, it is all to easy to forget that (more or less) all ancient statues were painted.

Detail of the right arm and texture.
